COOL HUDSON STREET ROD, BIG BLOCK 454 MOTOR, O/D TRANS, A/C, TILT WHEEL & MORE!

If you are going to build a fabulous street rod, why not start with a car that was lowered by the manufacturer when it was built? That's what Hudson's “step down” design was. This one was then dressed up in a flame paint job, trimmed out with one of the most impressive interiors you will ever see, and powered up with a healthy big block engine. Check it out.

The toothy grin and smooth lines of the Hudson just beg for a flame paint job. The Blue flames created for this car were sprayed over Dark Blue and are echoed elsewhere in this ride. While this build was done a while ago, you can see by the way that the paint has held up that it was an expensive project, created by professionals, with lots of time consuming preparation done before an ounce of paint was sprayed. The custom toothy chrome grill and front bumper is definitely shiny and either happy or menacing depending on how you look at it. The hood slopes down into a filler panel that intensifies the look. All gaps between body panels are tight and consistent and the headlights are frenched in with the door handles removed to create a super clean look. The view from the side displays the flames in all their glory and the body ... Please ask for the full description.

COOL HUDSON STREET ROD, BIG BLOCK 454 MOTOR, O/D TRANS, A/C, TILT WHEEL & MORE!

If you are going to build a fabulous street rod, why not start with a car that was lowered by the manufacturer when it was built? That's what Hudson's "step down" design was.

The view from the side displays the flames in all their glory and the body lines bend down around the frenched taillights and over the trunk ending in another sweet bumper with dual chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath.

Open the door and you will see the echoes of the flames in the beige interior too. They are pressed into custom door panels just over a sweeping armrest that mimics the arching bodyline of the car. Soft leather upholstery covers both the power front seats and luxurious rear seats. A billet steering wheel is a flaming work of art mounted on a tilt column sitting in front of a rich looking custom dash. White faced VDO gauges are symmetrically arranged with the speedometer in the center flanked by fuel, voltage, oil and water gauges to the sides. There are two custom consoles in this car. One on the floor houses the Panasonic stereo for your listening pleasure with (spoiler alert) switches and suspension gauges below it. Just behind those is the Lokar shifter for the automatic transmission and cup holders in front of a huge storage bin and armrest. The overhead console sits in a custom headliner with yet more flames and provides convenient storage for small things while the huge trunk handles the big items.

Open the hood and you will find a neat and clean engine bay with big block power in the form of a 454 cubic inch V8 nestled down inside it. A polished aluminum air filter with grooves cut into it match the large aluminum valve covers of the big block with the same treatment. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor feeds an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake. An MSD distributor handles the spark and Taylor 8mm wires get it to the cylinders to make big power. A large aluminum radiator with Zoops overflow and an electric fan keeps things running cool. The alternator as well as the master cylinder are chromed and the A/C compressor along with billet aluminum pulleys are all polished up. Air Ride handles the suspension duties nicely and allow adjustability for whatever awesome look you desire. Front disc brakes provide good stopping power and the car rides on American Racing wheels with 235/70R15 tires in the back and 215/70R15s in the front.

Doesn't this car make you want to get in and just drive somewhere? Well what are you waiting for then? Come on down and do it!
