340 V8, 3 SPEED AUTO W/ GEAR VENDOR OD, FRONT DISCS, A/C, POWER STEER, MUST SEE!

Attention Mopar fans, here's your chance at one of the best lightweight muscle machines of the 1960s. This 1968 Dodge Dart GTS has the right classic details like the golden paint and a powerful 340 V8 under the hood. But there have also been nice investments in making this a terrific all-around cruiser, including overdrive and air conditioning.

The Dart has always been the blocky-looking bad boy. The bodywork on this one has remained straight and angular after all these decades, and the finely creased sheet metal is far more clutter-free than its contemporaries. This clean look and a professional refresh of the factory-correct Medium Gold Metallic means a radiant car where you can see those important GTS badges from across the show field. And the golden glow of the paint goes nicely with well-done brightwork. And while the shiny parts are usually reserved for elegance, this seems to add to the performance style here. After all, the large chrome bumpers are imposing and the hood vent trim has aggressive red inserts. And some of the brightwork even hints at some upgrades, like how you have large polished dual exhaust tips for the enhanced V8 and the classic Rallye wheels showing off the ... Description

And some of the brightwork even hints at some upgrades, like how you have large polished dual exhaust tips for the enhanced V8 and the classic Rallye wheels showing off the lowered stance.

The golden beige inside is a nice harmonizing tone with the exterior gold, and so it's a nice package to show off with all the windows rolled down on this pillarless hardtop. Another reason to show off the interior is its commitment to preservation/restoration. You see it in the exceptional condition of the door panels, headliner, carpeting, and dash. It's particularly impressive with the seats that have pleated insignia inserts. But this vintage machine also loves to be a true cruiser. That's why higher traffic areas like the carpeting and armrests are done in black. And this is a car that can keep everyone happy with cold-blowing air conditioning and a subtly integrated Custom Auto Sound AM/FM tuner with iPod/iPhone input. And of course, a car like this is focused on the driver. You have front bucket seats, a center console with floor shift, and a nice wood rime to the classic Mopar Tuff-style steering wheel.

When you open the hood, you'll love seeing the extra tidy V8 greet you with the bold air topper that announces it's an extraordinary Mopar. You already know that Dodge made fewer vehicles than Ford or Chevy, and even fewer people were willing to pay the premium for the Dart GTS. So it's nice to see such a well-done coupe that still has an era-correct 340 cubic-inch V8 block. But more than just a distinctive history, you want this Dart for its pure power. The V8 has been enhanced with a Demon four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers feeding the X-pipe dual exhaust. On the road, the Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission has that ideal balance of stout construction for power driving and easy everyday shifting. That feeling is only enhanced by the addition of a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. As you look underneath, the ultra-clean undercarriage gives you the confidence that this restored car is a solid driver. And features like power seeing, front disc brakes, and wide BF Goodrich T/As make for a great anytime driving package.

There is a sharp style that comes with the right investment in both vintage appreciation and true driving fun. It all makes for a powerful and irresistible hardtop Mopar. Call today!!!
