The first thing that grabs your attention is, of course, the paintwork. The front metallic gray is burning hot, and you see that as the yellow and orange are airbrushed into the flame. There's nothing Japanese about the engine bay. That's the unmistakable appearance of an American V8. And it has the hardy look, right down to those polished center-bolt valve covers. This is a 5.7-liter/350 cubic-inch V8 that inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and exhales through shorty headers. It's a nice power upgrade that also has good supporting components, like a newer battery, an electric fan, and an HEI distributor. The V8 upgrade is paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that's built to handle the extra torque as well as provide overdrive comfort. The reason why you use a Z-car for an upgrade like this is that you get to take full advantage of its sharp-handling fully-independent suspension.
