This 1982 Chevrolet Malibu Wagon is a sleek machine that has been given a comprehensive custom build to be a unique grocery-getter. And with the fully adjustable air ride suspension, sleek style, overdrive transmission, and proper V8 power, you know this one has been made just the way you really want it.

We're surprised more people don't use this generation Malibu Wagon for a full custom build like this. The design is quite nice with a clean angular style. And there were even nice factory details like the rear lights set into the bumper. But that's just the base. This is a unique machine that integrates the bumpers, shaves the door handles, deletes the trim, and adds a roof spoiler. We especially like how the front end is made meaner by giving it a full-width billet grille and a power dome cowl hood. Then they dipped it all in a nice shade of silver. We especially like the color simply because it will always look good even when you're daily driving this wagon, and as you dig into the details, you'll see this custom was made to be a versatile real driver. After all, the 20-inch US Mags alloys look great when the air ride suspension gets low and they tuck under the body, but when you're done showing off in the parking lot, you can raise it up and go get the chores done.

The interior takes all the comfy factory Malibu features and adds in the right custom details. Up front are two high-back bucket seats with a center console in-between, and the rear bench was recently recovered to match the front. And the rear cargo area is currently in liner paint and bare metal - making it great for real tasks or custom outfitting for a tailgater. There are nice upgrades like remote door poppers on a key fob, power front windows, an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, and provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) It's a nicely done driver's setup with a custom sport steering wheel, a tilt column, a smooth silver gauge panel, and a large AutoMeter Autogage tach mounted at eye-level.

Under the hood is the 305 cubic-inch V8. While this is the numbers-matching motor, there has been a solid upgrade with an Edelbrock trio of the valve covers, Performer EPS intake, and four-barrel carburetor. And the V8 exhales with added power and authority as heads feed the dual exhaust. There are also nice supporting features like an electric fan and dual Optima red top batteries. It fires up and runs with the strength that tells you this one likes to be a real driver. And there are good anytime cruising features like power seeing, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
