VERY COOL & RARE JAPANESE IMPORT! TURBO 2.6L, 5 SPD MAN, COLD A/C, GREAT COLORS

We love a car like this 1987 Chrysler Conquest TSi. It did an even better job than the Dodge Daytona at taking on the Nissan Z, Toyota Supra, and Mazda RX-7. That's because it's a true Japanese classic with a loaded interior, five-speed, and a turbocharged powerhouse.

We are not going to perpetuate and ruse that this is a Chrysler. It's a Mitsubishi in Mopar clothing... and that's a great thing. You're looking at the heyday of Japanese sports cars, and because Chrysler unashamedly made the Mitsubishi Starion its Conquest, these have an additional rarity and distinction. And so while the price of Japanese classics from this era are becoming out of reach, this exceptionally preserved example is affordable (for now.) While it's unknown if the odometer reflects the full actual mileage, this coupe looks like it has hardly spent much time on the road. It appears to still have its factory black paint on the angular body, and given the superior Japanese build quality of the period, it should be no surprise that it still looks great today. The styling is a success, a stand-out example of the futuristic 1980s, with folding headlights and neat angles everywhere you look. And given the ... Please ask for the full description.

And given the condition of the details, like the wheels, weather-stripping, and plastic components, it's obvious that someone really cared for this car.

One of the reasons why this era of Japanese classics is so coveted is because it was right at the time Japan wanted to show it could provide both big luxury and the best in technology, and the interior really shows that. For example, the seats are exceptionally well-bolstered and are engineered to let you adjust all the best pressure points for added support. The condition of the leather joins the carpets, door panels, dash, and all the other details (including the dome light) to give you an exceptionally preserved feeling. There's also a very driver-oriented feeling with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a tilt column, and an ergonomically-placed shifter. Plus, we love the cool orange glow of the factory readouts, including the turbo gauge at the center. And the array of buttons really drives home the futuristic side, including the digital climate control center for the cold-blowing air conditioning. The Conquest TSi was a range-topper, and that means you have plenty of desirable features like a sunroof, power windows, power locks, a rear defogger, cruise control, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo.

The 2.6-liter motor is the heart of the car's appeal. The TSi model came standard with both the Mitsubishi turbocharger and a large intercooler. So if you're a fan of Japanese coupes of this era, you can understand how this setup has a magical balance of power and torque that made them get instant respect on the streets. Plus, this one has been given the right investments within the last couple of years, including a new timing chain guide, tensioner, belts, hoses, gaskets, and a proper tune-up with a top-end overhaul. So it's the kind of car that you'll enjoy driving. It's quite sharp on the road with the fully independent suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes. And while the age of luxury Japanese cars was in full swing for this one - which usually means automatic transmissions - but you are in full control of this Chrysler/Mitsubishi thanks to the five-speed.

The sale comes complete with the service manual, maintenance receipts, and a box of spare components. This is the unique, loaded, and preserved turbo Japanese classic that's (momentarily) affordable because it's running with an American name. So don't miss this captive import. Call today!!!
