A fantastically designed exterior, a vibrant leather interior, and plenty of V8 power under the hood - this 1962 Chrysler 300 Sport is a long and low hardtop classic that offers distinction for quite an affordable price.

This was the first year the 300 name extended beyond the letter series of cars, and in fact, it was hard to tell the difference between a 300H coupe and a 300 Sport without looking at the badge. They both were expensive coupes with a terrific pillar-less profile that we love on an upper-class '60s machine. Overall, Chrysler really created a unique look with the car. It's in the angle of the headlight cluster; the way the marker lights flow into the fenders; and the rear end where the taillights expertly follow the nearly impossibly curvy form. No one would dare produce something this complicated in today's world, and so it's great to find such a well-preserved machine. This one has a terrific history of care where it has been in the same family for 35 years. It was bought in southern California in the mid-1980s and believed to be a California car the full time before that. It was garage-kept in San Diego, except for the last nine years where it was in a heated Idaho garage. That's how you get a car that looks so clean and complete with just the right touches of again on the factory-correct white paint and chrome bumpers to help tell this car's well-respected story.

The red interior has a premium and vibrant style against the creamy white exterior. You'll love the texture of the taut headliner, the intricate pattern of the doors, and the supple feeling of the leather upholstery. It makes for the kind of impressive style that will have plenty of family and friends wanting to go for a ride in this full-size coupe. There are provisions for some terrific classic features, like the AM radio and air conditioning (they will need servicing to full function again.) And there are even cool details, like the dash-mounted rear-view mirror and working dome lights. Chrysler's 383 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor on top was their bedrock for the muscle car generation, and it makes for effortless driving in this cruiser. Plus, we're told this is an upgraded motor that was balanced, and it includes an upgraded cam, bored .30 over, upgraded piston rings, and hardened valves to make better power and run better on today's pump gas. True luxury cruising also means a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
