You're looking at a real-deal 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. These coupes have the rare distinction of being the first year for the big block, and the last year to be built in California. This is a well-documented example that's in the Shelby Registry, and it has the paperwork to back up the understanding that this is an actual-miles car with its number-matching motor.

Carroll Shelby turned a handful of Mustang fastbacks into something that was distinctly all his own. There's just no mistaking the Shelby look. The custom fiberglass hood; the functional side scoops; the molded rear deck lid; and a full racing stripe package: all make an impressive statement. Lime Gold is one of the best colors around because it seems to represent the 1960s so well, and at the same time, it has the kind of flair you want on a real-deal Shelby. That's especially true for this high-gloss, high-quality respray. The details are quite correct on this one, right down snake-bitten badges, 10-spoke alloys, and Goodyear Speedway small letter tires. It's all there because this is a very special car. Remember, 1967 was the last year these 1st generation Mustangs were transformed at Shelby's own California ... Please ask for the full description.

Remember, 1967 was the last year these 1st generation Mustangs were transformed at Shelby's own California factory. The later ones were coming out of Michigan. So this car really does have a race-inspired pedigree that keeps them in high demand.

The black bucket seat interior is very well presented. Nice carpeting, a smooth dash, taut headliner, good-looking seats with the bright trim affixed. It wouldn't feel like a proper first-year GT500 without features like the wood-grained three-spoke steering wheel, roll bar, full harnesses, and full gauge cluster, including the oil pressure and alternator readouts below the radio. Check out the included Marti report, all the main options appear as they should be, right down to the folding rear seat.

Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. This is Ford's big 428 cubic-inch V8 borrowed from the Police Interceptor package. There is a photo file that includes authenticating the motor during a restoration around 2006. This powerhouse still carries all the great Cobra pieces, like the finned air cleaner and valve covers. This engine has not been over-dressed, and instead, this likes to impress with its originality and correctness. So you'll love everything from the decals to the stamping on the hoses. This level of factory spec also means this motor is carrying the correct aluminum intake manifold topped with dual inline Holley 600 CFM four-barrel carburetors. 355 horsepower? Yeah, we all knew that factory rating was a joke. And you get to harness this power full with the correct four-speed manual transmission. The GT500 utilized a beefed-up version of the Mustang's GT package, and you also have power steering, power brakes, and front discs. So we know you'll easily add to the odometer of this low mileage collectible.

This is the ultimate snake-bitten Mustang, and it has all the right paperwork, too. It includes the Marti Report, restoration photos, a copy of the original order forum, and title documentation that includes mileage info. If you're a collector it's time to own a significant piece of Shelby history. Call now!
