Rare, powerful, and absolutely cool, this 1972 AMC Javelin AMX knows how to make a great first impression. And this has such a true vintage muscle car style - right down to four-on-the-floor. It makes for an awesome total package, especially when its this nicely priced.
Trans Am Red is an awesome name to have when looking at the top-dog AMC muscle car. This is a later respray that has a good gloss that highlights all of the unique curves. The long hood with large power bulge, fenders that bring extra-emphasis to the wheels, sunken rear decklid with a hint of flying buttress, and well-integrated rear spoiler - this is everything you look for on a Javelin upgraded to an AMX. You even have the Go Package features like the blackout rear panel, bright dual exhaust tips, and Mag 500 wheels. It's an impressive appearance, but those who like to actually enjoy their classics will be happy to see that it's very much meant to be a driver. And the way this is presented - from the form-hugging chrome bumpers to the way the panels fit - tells you that this sports car has led a respected life. And we can understand why. Those who know their AMC history understand the AMX package is quite rare. ... Please ask for the full description.

And the way this is presented - from the form-hugging chrome bumpers to the way the panels fit - tells you that this sports car has led a respected life. And we can understand why. Those who know their AMC history understand the AMX package is quite rare. There were only about 3,200 examples in 1972, which is less than a week's worth of the Chevrolet Chevelle coupe's production the same year!
The interior has a terrific vintage style. The upholstery, headliner, door panels, and carpeting have a very stock style and quite a fresh feeling. Even the dome light greets you when the door opens. But what's truly alluring is how this is a great driver's car. You get high-back front bucket seats, a center console, power steering, and an AMC three-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column. You get a commanding view of the wraparound gauge pack all set in a machined aluminum panel that's truly muscle car cool. And the tach goes especially well with the floor shifter.
AMC's 360 cubic-inch V8 is always great to see under the hood. It has a hardy reputation, and this one shows off the best pieces, like the special air grabber that seals to the induction hood. But as you dig a little deeper, you'll also spot upgrades like the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. It fires up readily with a nice tune from the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. Best of all, you are in full control of the power and rumble thanks to the four-speed manual transmission.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and window sticker. This is quite a lot of muscle car distinction for the money, so don't miss your chance. Call today!!!
