Of course, they look so good because you're looking at a sedan that has been treated with proper respect. The factory-correct white paint has the right mix of originality with just a later respray to the hood, roof, and trunk to keep the most exposed areas still looking correct for a premium classic. It's hard not to fall in love with a long and luxurious surviving classic when sold at such an affordable price. From the big 460 V8 under the hood to the comfy A/C interior, everything you could ever ask for on this 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car has a great survivor-quality feeling.
This generation of the Lincoln Continental is a full-size luxury machine with an instant presence, and this one has options that impress, like the half vinyl roof with matching full-length pinstripe. Of course, they look so good because you're looking at a sedan that has been treated with proper respect. The factory-correct white paint has the right mix of originality with just a later respray to the hood, roof, and trunk to keep the most exposed areas still looking correct for a premium classic. It's the perfect backdrop for the razor-sharp fender creases and plentiful chrome accents. Speaking of brightwork, this one has all of its pieces complete - from the big bumpers to the little guards over the parking lights. There's quite a nice feeling of respect throughout this whole car. It even comes with a fuel log book up until 1995 that leads us to believe the low odometer is accurate. This true cruising attitude includes opera windows, front mudguards, rear fender skirts, and bright whitewalls. The total package is a time capsule that will make this large Lincoln a favorite at car shows.
Open the door, and you'll see the luxury that could only come from the 1970s. The burgundy leather coordinates with the exterior accents for a very well-coordinated style. And the seats are exceptionally nice with the pillow top design that's just as comfy as it looks. There are even fold-down armrests - front and rear - for true individual luxury. While the wood paneling is always an excellent way to distinguish the premium vehicles of the '70s, it looks especially nice against the preserved burgundy interior package. This one came straight from the factory with premium items like a power seat, power windows, power locks, and cold-blowing air conditioning. You even still have an AM/FM 8-Track stereo. It powers on, and while it's unclear if it's receiving stations, it probably won't take much for you to play any 8-Track cartridges you get off of eBay. You'll appreciate this time capsule level, down to details, like the full interior lighting that greets you, the hallmark Cartier clock, and even the expensive CB radio option.
Ford's smooth and refined 460 cubic inch V8 performs effortlessly in the Continental. This was in the lower compression era, and that's a good thing. It means this is a survivor-like sedan already built to handle unleaded gasoline. Plus, the big V8 retains enough torque to pull a boat. Of course, you will likely never want to tow a yacht in this big-bodied car, but this kind of available strength allows you to smoothly and quickly cruise away from the stoplight. This has a natural eye for effortless driving with features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a three-speed automatic transmission.
